State Route 37 Resurfacing

The Georgia Department of Transportation’s Baker County State Route 37 Resurfacing Project, located just outside of Newton, Georgia, began at the Flint River Bridge and extended west 5.1 miles to the Calhoun County line. This $5M project included approximately 35,000 tons of hot mix asphalt, 20,000 square yards of asphalt milling, 5.1 miles of shoulder rehabilitation, and associated pavement markings and shoulder grassing. West Region crews won the most improved ride in the State of Georgia for the fiscal year in 2023 for this project.
