Our Projects

The Georgia Department of Transportation’s Crisp County US Highway 280 Widening Project consisted of converting 4 miles of existing three-lane roadway and 3.7 miles of existing two-lane roadway all into 7.7 miles of a four-lane highway. Located in the center of our West Region, the project began at the State Route 300 Connector and extended west to the Lake Blackshear bridge. With a value of $25M, major items of work were traffic control, erosion control, clearing, grading, storm drainage, culvert work, bridge widening, aggregate base course, and asphalt paving.

The Georgia Department of Transportation’s Baker County State Route 37 Resurfacing Project, located just outside of Newton, Georgia, began at the Flint River Bridge and extended west 5.1 miles to the Calhoun County line. This $5M project included approximately 35,000 tons of hot mix asphalt, 20,000 square yards of asphalt milling, 5.1 miles of shoulder rehabilitation, and associated pavement markings and shoulder grassing. West Region crews won the most improved ride in the State of Georgia for the fiscal year in 2023 for this project.

Reeves West Region team constructed a roundabout on State Route 247 Connector at Houser’s Mill Road. Major items of work that made up this $3M project included traffic control, erosion control, grading, aggregate base, hot mix asphalt, storm drainage, concrete paving, curbing, pavement markings and other associated items.

The $9M Georgia Department of Transportation’s Bibb-Jones State Route 11/US Highway 129 Resurfacing project included approximately 420,000 square yards of asphalt, 58,00 tons of hot mix asphalt, and new pavement markings, from the Gray, Georgia Bypass south to Woodlawn Ave in Macon, Georgia, totaling approximately 8.8 miles of the four-lane highway. The work on this project was performed at night to allow normal traffic flow during the workday.
